Gro-Bark started supplying aged pine bark as an amendment to potting soils in 1980. The company has evolved into a complete potting mix supplier, with a full range of nutrients and additives blended to create the optimum potting mix for each grower. Many growers turn to our quality assurance sales team for guidance and advice on a variety of issues. Our potting mixes are produced at our Milton, Ontario facility. A combination of modern equipment, dedicated staff and superior ingredients ensures our customers receive potting mixes suited to their needs.
CPM - COMPOSTED PINE BARK
CPM is produced from select species of pine trees at our northern Ontario facility by knowledgeable staff. Top growers in Canada & the United States use CPM as a prime ingredient in their container mixes. Our CPM is carefully processed to achieve an optimum balance of water percolation and air space, and is:
• Low in pH with a general range of 3.5 to 4.0
• C/N balanced
• Low in cellulose content
• Typically processed to 1" size but is also available in 1/2" & 1/4" sizes.
GRO-BARK CONTAINER/POTTING MIXES
Trusted by many of the top nursery and perennial growers in Ontario and Michigan, our proven blends are consistent in quality, easy to work with and are delivered in bulk by walking floor trailers or in easy tip bins. Custom blends are available to your specifications. Use our tried and proven formulations designed for specific applications, available with or without fertilizer blends. Prices are quoted on an individual basis but generally range from $40 to $55 per cu.yd. in full truck loads of 90 cu.yds or more. The addition of slow release fertilizers can be included in a quotation at a very competitive price.
• Prime ingredient is Gro-Bark’s high quality CPM
• Additional ingredients include Sphagnum peat moss harvested from New Brunswick bogs, grade “AA” Compost made on-site from green waste (yard waste, leaves, vegetable waste). Our compost passes CAN/BNQ "AA" standards
• Other optional ingredients include Perlite, Vermiculite, Surfactant, Slow-Release Fertilizer, and assorted aggregates.
• Custom blended to achieve pH, drainage and aeration requirements of the individual grower
• Delivered in bulk on walking floor trailers
• Alternative delivery in easy tip 2 cu.yd. bins for Greenhouse growers.
